LTHT Second Highest Recruiting Centre for REDUCE FMR Study
Friday 29th September 2017
The REDUCE FMR Cardiovascular Research study started world-wide in March 2015 and Leeds was enrolled as a site in November 2015. Recruitment is now complete and, despite the later start compared to other centres, LTHT was the second highest recruiting site centre overall. This was due to the conscientiousness and enthusiasm of the Interventional Research team. REDUCE FMR is a truly multi-disciplinary research study and the research team worked closely with the Cardiac Investigation Unit in order to complete the complex exercise components of this randomized, double-blind study. This study is a multi-national trial to assess the Carillon mitral contour system in treating mitral regurgitation associated with heart failure.
