Leeds hosts national UKCRF Conference
Monday 16th July 2018
The 14th Annual UKCRF conference, hosted and organised by the Leeds CRF team, was held at the Royal Armouries Museum on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th July. This conference brings together a multidisciplinary team of delegates from across the UK. The theme this year was "Seeing is believing: Imaging and digital technologies in the 21st Century". Delegates attended a mixture of Plenary talks and focused Parallel sessions with topics including PPIE, Organisation, Data, QA, Imaging, Education and Workforce.
Some of the topical presentations included the first showing of a film organised by Dr William Van't Hoff from Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, which featured some children taking part in Paediatric Research in Leeds. There was also an excellent PPIE play showcasing Dental Health, performed by local young people highlighting the effectiveness of theatre in getting the message across to school age children and communities.
The whole conference was very well attended and evaluated, and even though it was a mammoth task organising this prestigious event, the LEEDS CRF Hub Team thoroughly enjoyed this experience.
