Sarah Kent

Lead CRF Research Nurse

Sarah joined Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in April 2017 as Senior Sister on the Leeds Clinical Research Facility, Bexley Wing, St James University Hospitals. A dedicated unit delivering high quality Early Phase and complex translational research across multiple disease sites. This involves First in Human and Advanced Therapy studies.

Sarah is also the Cancer Research UK Senior Nurse representing Leeds (one of 15 Senior Nurses across the UK) helping promote patient centred cancer research, raising awareness and understanding of clinical research and acting as an expert and leader in research nursing.

In February 2021, Sarah took on a new role as Lead Research Nurse/Matron for Research & Innovation, overseeing a number of teams within the wider Leeds research community, which covers clinical areas including the Leeds Clinical Research Facility.

Sarah comments that clinical trials is not only exciting and cutting edge, but is also very much a team effort and I feel very privileged to be in such a role working with such fantastic, enthusiastic and passionate people at LTHT. Ultimately, research cannot happen without patients and I am always amazed by their courage, strength and huge contribution they make.
